// Vivid 2012//

It’s time I reinvest in a new camera, one that can take good quality photos at night. The one I currently own takes appalling night photos

The Plasma room. So we walked in & saw people moving their arms & these plasma thingies would be created by your movement. And then I decided to start running from one side of the room to the other and it created these awesome bursts of warm colours (red & yellows) as wells as bunches of lines

Whereas if you moved more slower it’d look like this:

Overall though, I’d say last years Vivid was much better, with the Opera House covered in various colours, compared to this year’s with a women rolling around in sheets. Though that’s my opinion as I prefer colours. Oh and the fire dance was amazing last year.

There were these AWESOME fish bikes, but they wouldn’t let us sitting/ride them :( but at the end of the show, there were people riding them back to where they stay at night. I was completely envious of them hahaa

I’m finally going out tonight!

I woke up and thought “it’s friday = VIVID”

And I still can’t believe it, it feels like I’m dreaming.

It’s clearly been too long since I’ve had a night out

So I’m a second year Bachelor of Economics student.

As an elective I chose a Humanitarian class Doing Business in China. I’ve got a group essay due in a few weeks with our topic being Pollution.

Upon researching I’ve stumbled upon a 10 part story in the New York Times - “Choking on Growth”. It explores the impact China’s impressive economic growth is having upon it’s environment. And it’s damn right depressing.

It’s struck such a chord, that I’m ashamed of my heritage. The Chinese can be so stupid! They are so blinded by capitalism & growth, that they cannot see that their livelihoods are deteriorating right in front of their eyes! Money doesn’t matter once you no longer have clean water to drink or fresh air to breath.

Growing up, I was & still am a massive fan of dolphins. I remember learning about the freshwater dolphin in the Yangzte River of China when I was still learning my ABCs. Today I found out that the species has become extinct! *heartbroken*

There’s also the case of the Yangzte soft-shell turtles, the largest freshwater turtles in the world. With only TWO remaining left, luckily one female & one male. They are kept in two separate zoos & for many years neither zoo were willing to give up their turtle. How stupid got you get?! The last & only chance of this species surviving lies in your hands yet you won’t take the chance?!

The most ludicrous thing yet is the government & it’s officials. The amount of corruption, back-alley deals & cover-ups is ridiculous. Residents are living in these deteriorating conditions where rivers & lakes that they once drunk from have become completely untouchable. Yet they dare not speak out in fear of losing employment, and being jailed.

I don’t know what to say anymore, my view of China has completely changed. I cannot unread what I have read. I can only hope that they realise their mistakes before it’s too late.

Not only has it changed my opinion about China, but also economics. It’s re sparked that my passion for geography/environment. I should be doing something that will help other people….

If I could live out the rest of my life as a crafter, I would be extremely content.

I’d spend all day making crafty things, selling them at quirky markets like Glebe

Recently from all the emails & magazines I’ve looked through, golden necklaces have been accessorised with collared shirts, a lot

As such:

And over the past month I’ve gather quite a collection of sheer collared shirts. So I became determined to find a basic gold necklace that would become a classic piece within my collection.

Rather than being able to find a simple necklace (like the one pictured above), I found an assortment of gold necklaces. Very few that were similiar to the one above. Instead I found ones with 3 plates, various chains & colours.

Instead I found myself a tribal triangle necklace. So instead here’s what I came up with (just a simple substitution)

What do you think? Someone told me it was quite unique :)

PS. it’s been a while since I’ve done a decent post, though this was put quite quickly & I couldn’t find the right pictures…

I came home from uni starving

And now I have just made the best chicken salad.

  • chicken
  • tuna
  • lettuce
  • sweet-chilli mayo
  • pepper
  • avocado

Try it! It’s delicious :)

I seriously miss camping & hanging out in nature.

Have you been on Google yet?!

It’s Robert Moogs 78th birthday & in celebration they’re designed their logo into the Moog synthesizer.

It’s pretty awesome, sounds like an electronic piano

And well I’ve been procrastinating with it for the past hour.
