I’m currently doubting my moral compass.
I went to my gran’s today to run a few errands & while there I heard a dog crying. Intrigued I looked around (because I love dogs). I find this little puppy on the front steps of the house across the road. Odd.
I call to it & it comes running down the driveway. The gates are further back, with wide demented bars. They remind me of those portrayed in gaols, where prisoners try to break free.
The bars were wide enough for an small adult dog to pass through, not to mention those that were warped.
So I popped it into the backyard as I went to run errands. When I returned I decided to ask surround homes if they were missing this dog, before kidnapping it & spoiling it forever.
I approached the house where I found him, just as the owner arrived home. Behold it was their puppy.
I’m glad I returned it, because I know what it feels like to have your dog disappear. However at the same time I am concerned. With gates so wide the dog can escape any time.
I did the right thing right?
I must admit a part of me deep down just wanted to keep the bundle of cuteness to myself.
